Snakes of Ohio
Red=Venomous (Poses high risk if bitten) Yellow=Mildly Venomous (posses little risk if bitten) Green=Non-Venomous (Poses no risk if bitten)
According to official documentation Ohio has 30 snake species with three of those being considered as dangerous to human life the Timber Rattlesnake, Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake, and the Northern Copperhead. The three dangerous species are all members of the family Viperidae or Pit Vipers and are easily identified by their facial pits, arrowhead shaped head that's noticeably wider than it's neck, and slanted or non rounded eyes.
